Fresh from working on the MIFF Premiere Fund-supported 2017 MIFF Opening Night world premiere film Jungle, production designer Matt Putland (Kriv Stenders’ Australia Day, Ivan Sen’s Mystery Road, and The Spierig Brothers’ Undead, Predestination and upcoming Winchester) explores how production designers collaborate with directors to bring the world of the film to life.

Acting: Melissa George & Ed Oxenbould

Fresh from their roles in the MIFF Premiere Fund-supported The Butterfly Tree, which world premieres at MIFF 2017, Melissa George and Ed Oxenbould explore the unique relationship and dynamics between actors and directors in this Accelerator Lab session. A former champion roller-skater and model, George’s Australian film credits include Felony and Triangle, while her extensive TV work includes The Slap – both in Australia and the USA, where she has also starred in Alias, Grey’s Anatomy and The Good Wife. Known across Australia for his roles in Puberty Blues and Paper Planes, Oxenbould’s US work includes M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit and the upcoming Wildlife with Jake Gyllenhaal.
